Rachel Antonoff S/S13 Make-up & Nails By MAC Cosmetics and CND
Make-up:
At the Rachel Antonoff was inspired by ‘Naughty Country Club Girl’ A look again seen at fashion week that is wearble! Key MAC artist Keri Blair and her team took the designer’s “naughty country club girl” inspiration and created a look everyone can wear. On the eyes - a chunky eye liner (wider on the end and tapered into the inner corner) and mascara on top lashes, but what really made the look was the black lipstick applied as a stain. “We sheered out the lipstick with Fluidline in ‘Black Track’ and I added a bit of MAC Lipmix with a bit of lip balm,” said Keri. “And when you do that, it gives it this sort of stained affect.”
Nails:
Now moving onto the amazing nails! Again the trend this season- Nail ART is huge! And I am loving seeing what the CND team create on each show. CND’s Candice Manacchio showed why girls just want to have hedge fun at the country club! There was three different nail styles in the theme- The “Aerial Nail” portrayed a bird’s eye view of Versailles, The “Garden Nail” captured the maze-like quality of the winding hedges in the presentation and finally Clear tips layered with white and tagged with blue & red Sharpies memorialized the friends and family dearest to the designer. Now a question I keep asking the team- how long did they take you? Candice told me- 65 hours to hand-detail 600 tips for this show! WOO! Amazing…

The beauty at Rachel Antonoff. Necessarily over-the-top.
Shit’s about to get real.
First, let’s say this: if you don’t wear lip color, you’re making a huge mistake. Lip color is probably the single easiest way to look put together and sharp. It also makes you look about ten times more alive than if you go dry-lip pale. Really.
So if you’re guilty of overlooking this particular hugely massively important simple thing, then fear not! Here’s just one thing to get you started.
I bought this Lipstick Queen Liptropolis trio when I was in Manhattan a few weeks ago (in a tiny shop, though here’s a link to buy it from Nordstrom), and I have loved it. I have about a billion lip colors and palettes, and people always compliment me on all the colors, saying they want to wear things like this, but they don’t know where to start. Well, kids, this is the place to start. I think, honestly, if I owned no lipstick and wanted to start wearing a variety of looks, with these three colors, I’d be set.
I highly recommend it. Three different shades that will look good on anyone and everyone. If you’ve been wanting to dive in to the lip color world but don’t know how, this is the simplest, most foolproof, all around best shot anyone’s given you in… a while.
Long live Poppy King and her Lipstick Queen.

I got so excited with my Isabel Marant boots and McQueen glasses, I forgot to share my other purchase! Kevyn Aucoin matte lip color in Endless.
This lip color is the exactly perfect pink-red I’ve always wanted. And as much fun as my super reds (I’m looking at you, MAC Ruby Woo + Cherry liner, Chanel Rouge Allure color I can’t remember, and Bobbi Brown classic Red) and super pinks (looking at you MAC new Quick Sizzle + More to Love liner), this is just a more wearable go-to, and I’m in love.
Then again, I’ve never met a Kevyn Aucoin……anything I didn’t like.
So. Go. Endless. Let’s be twins.
Backstage at 3.1 Phillip Lim. Makeup: super hero meets romanticism
I’m sort of dying over this concept. Super hero meets romanticism. I may want to be that more than anything.
Come to think of it… the one piece of 3.1 Philip LIm I own is a pink bag that’s covered in studs and a giant bow. It’s awfully badass, and I always thought of it as tough chic (my go-to aesthetic), but now that I think about it… yeah. It’s super hero meets romanticism.
I love.
